Hi Everyone
As you know, in January 2015 Elle was diagnosed with Stage 4 mature B Cell Non-Hodgkins lymphoma. For a large part of that year we lived on Ward 84 at RMCH whilst Elle received her treatment. It was the worst time of all of our lives.
We want to show our appreciation to the charities who have helped us along the way and thought it was best if we begin with the people who saved her life. We all know that the NHS doesn't get enough credit for what it does for us all.
The original plan was that I would be running the 10km. Unfortunately, in the last football game of the season I and everyone stood behind me heard a crack coming from the back of my leg. The doctors originally diagnosed me with a ruptured Achilles' tendon but a scan later showed it was something further up my leg and in my calf.
Either way it's 8 weeks rest so I'm unable to complete the run. I'm totally devastated as I feel so indebted to the ward for saving Elle's life.
Thankfully I have a family full of superheroes who are there to stand in. Elle and Isobel will be running the mini run and Stephanie will be taking them both around. The girls have their own page already and I have let RMCH know about the change of plan.
Thank you so much to everyone that has already donated, I hope it's ok with all of you that the money will go in the girls name to Ward 84 rather than mine.
Finally, please if you have anything spare to donate then any small amount would be greatly appreciated. The money goes directly to Ward 84 to help the other children like Elle going through similar courses of gruelling treatment.
Thanks
Paul
