What is the 2000 Mile Challenge?
Please sponsor me now!
To run 2000 Miles across the whole 2007 year.
Through out the year (2007) I aim to complete a total of 2000 running miles including racing miles, and outdoor training miles. To complete the challenge I must complete on average 38.5 miles (running) per week. Most of the miles will be completed in both Nottingham and Leicester.
Every run from 01 Jan 2007 to 30 Jun 2007 will be recorded using a Polar S625x computer. After 30 Jun 2007 all runs will be recorded on a Garmin Forerunner 305 (GPS) and uploaded to http://trail.motionbased.com
Current mileage for the year as of 14 Dec 2007 is:
2001.8 (Challenge Complete)
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: NSPCC will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
If you're a Secondlife resident (see www.secondlife.com for more information) you can contact "NSPCC Miles" in game and donate as much Lindens ($L) to Miles as you can afford. At the end of the year all Lindens (L$) will be converted to USD/GBP and then given to NSPCC in GBP. So far "NSPCC Miles" has collected a total of L$18,300 (there are about L$250.00 - L$300.00 to every US Dollar). Thank you to my Secondlife friends!
Secondlife Event:
14 Sept 2007 at 12 PM PDT (8 PM BST – UK time)
The Secondlife event raised just over £153.00
Paul Talik (aka Rocko Fallon in Secondlife) will be hosting a major NSPCC charity event. The event is set to start on 14 Sept 2007 at 12 noon PDT (8 PM UK time) and will be a 24 hour event. The event will take place over several locations within Secondlife such as: THEclub Sundance, THEhood, and the River of Venus.
Some of the highlights of the event will include:
1. Live performances from unbelievable artists such as Natalie Moody (from Sweden), and Kelvinblue.oh, and many others.
2. An Auction where generous residents and corporations have donated excellent products for us to auction off and have the proceeds go to NSPCC. The Auction will be run by the beautiful Absolut Smirnov (from the UK)
3. Live DJ’s streaming your favourite tunes
4. Resident competitions where residents could win fantastic items donated by other generous residents and corporations.
Rocko Fallon has created replica NSPCC collection tins for the collection of donations from residents in Secondlife. These are very special collection tins. Residents make payments to the collection tins and the amount donated is transferred to NSPCC Miles seamlessly. The collection tins have been released into Secondlife and are distributed FREE. Residents can copy and give away the tins to other residents FREELY. The collection tins have also been released into a vendor network (see www.apez.biz for more information on the vendor network). It doesn’t mater where the collection tins have been distributed; all payments to any of them will be transferred to NSPCC miles. Every collection tin has an information card that tells the residents how the tins work and gives detailed information about NSPCC and why we’re raising money for this worthy charity.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
