Story
The firm I work for, Mazars, has tragically lost several members of staff to brain tumours in recent months. A group of colleagues from our Leeds office have just completed a 400 kilometre charity cycle challenge to raise funds to support Brain Tumour Research. I'm riding the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 in support of them, in memory of our colleagues and also in memory of Paul Clark, who was taken from his friends and family far too young.
The guys in Leeds have raised an incredible £28,000, which will fund the Brain Tumour Trust's Centre of Excellence for 10 days. They are now aiming to reach £30,140 which will keep the centre open for another day. I'd love to help them reach their target!
Brain Tumour Research, undertakes research into the prevention and cure of brain tumours and related brain illnesses and provides a direct link to the passing of our friends.
In spite of the increase incidence of brain cancer it still lags behind in terms of funding – this lack of funding is one of the main reasons that brain tumour survival rates are not dropping and why it remains responsible for more deaths in the under-40s than any other cancer.
Thank you in advance for your support.
