Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In September 2018 I was diagnosed with throat cancer, it was
in my right tonsil and had spread to the lymph nodes.  Diagnosis was followed by surgery, 6 sessions of chemotherapy and 30 sessions of radiotherapy.  The treatment is harsh and the side effects
worse.

Fast forward 9 months and I’m coping with the aftermath and back
at work. Currently, some cancer is still present and I’m waiting to see if any more treatment is needed.

While I’m waiting, I figure I may as well do something useful.  So here I am, preparing to walk 26 miles round Rutland Water.  I won’t be
alone though.  Some of my fabulous friends will be walking with me or supporting in other ways…thanks ladies, you are all amazing!

I want to raise money for a charity that doesn’t get the support that some of the big charities get, I’m also hoping to raise awareness
of throat cancer.

Thanks for reading and if you are able to donate anything
that would be really appreciated.

About the charity

We are the only UK foundation who are dedicated and aim to improve throat cancer treatment processes, help to develop better cures, support both patients and medical professionals and educate more people on how to look after their throats to lessen their risk of developing this horrible cancer.
