Hearing Dogs for Deaf People trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds such as the smoke alarm, alarm clock, intruder alarms and baby monitors. These amazing dogs also help deaf people to leave loneliness behind by providing love, companionship and emotional support.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Aero-pup hearing dog in training here to encourage you to help me raise funds so more pups can follow me on my exciting journey to become a hearing dog for deaf people. With the assistance of my puppy socialiser Jan, I am organising a sponsored walk as part of the annual “Paws for a Walk” national event. The 3 mile walk around Shenley will kick-off at 2pm on Sunday the 11th of May. Dogs and children welcome. We will start and finish at St Martin's Church in Shenley where cream teas will be served afterwards (My favourite part as should be lots of crumbs for me to hoover up!!).

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People's Mission

Mission statement: To offer greater independence, confidence and companionship to deaf people by providing dogs trained to alert them to chosen everyday sounds.

Nearly 10 million people in the UK experience some degree of hearing loss. That's one person in every six. Over half a million are severely or profoundly deaf. We want to help as many of these people as possible by creating life-changing partnerships between deaf people and specially trained hearing dogs.

We hope you'll be able to support us as it's a really good cause.
