Challenging myself better

World Record Attempt · 3 June 2017
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In August 2016 I came off my bike and suffered a nasty head injury. Three months off work followed and then I managed to go back 50%, although that was difficult. Friends and family have been patient, kind and helped me so much to deal with the restrictions I've found myself having since the accident. The publications Headway produce have helped me understand what I'm going through and that my emotional rollercoaster is normal. I was lucky, others are not so. Things could so easily have been very different. Here's my chance to give something back and help others who need more help then I did to come to terms with the new life they find themselves living.
As my injury was caused by cycling I've decided to turn it into a positive and have found myself a number of cycling and running challenges to complete this year. I thought I'd be able to do this in 2017, but I just wasn't well enough and I realised, with a lot of convincing by others, that I was over ambitious.
So I'm going to try again in 2018. I've revised my plan slightly. I'd like to be able to run a sub 2 hour 1/2 marathon again, cycle the length of Wales in a day, cycle around Lake Geneva, do the C2C ride in 3 days and if possible attempt to set a world record for the most countries cycled through in 24hours by a woman. I'm sure I'll be adding to list, including bagging as many Swiss alpine passes as I can.
Join me on my journey and support others who haven't been as lucky as me.
