Story
The Pentabus team are hiking up four of Shropshire’s iconic peaks in a day to raise money for their charitable work. Firstly, they will walk up Ragleth, followed by Caer Caradoc, then over to the Long Mynd with a final trek up the Stiperstones.
As a charity Pentabus needs to raise additional money on top of ticket income, their Arts Council grant and monies from trusts and foundations to continue to survive and offer its ground-breaking work to isolated rural communities.
As a company we are all passionate about the countryside as well as the arts, and regularly take group walking meetings. This is a great way to follow two of our passions - Pentabus and walking the Shropshire hills and surrounding counties - to raise much needed funds to continue to supporting rural artists, local young people and village hall audiences. Sophie Motley Artistic Director
Pentabus currently has to reach its Catalyst Target of £21,000 before August 2019. This is a fantastic opportunity which has been given to them to match fund donations, through the Arts Council’s Catalyst Evolve Scheme. They are striving hard to hit this target and have already raised over fifty per cent. They aim to raise at least £2,500 through this walk. Your support would help guarantee that they hit their target.
Your support will help Pentabus to continue to work with young people in the local area, as well as helping to commission new productions, which champion the rural voice and tour locally and nationally.
Pentabus work is important - rural communities are so often disregarded generally and nourishing our imaginations contributes to our well-being. Pentabus Supporter 2019
If you would like to follow their progress and wave a cheery sign on route then you can do by following them on their social media on the day.

Pentabus plays a vital role in reaching out to rural audiences to provide world class live theatre and storytelling in villages and towns across the country. To be able to help raise essential funds for Pentabus by climbing the hills of its Shropshire home where its art is formed will be a challenge as well as a privilege.
Thanks to Catalyst all money raised will be match funded which will give us walkers and climbers extra impetus and energy ! Joanna Hughes, Pentabus Board Member
