This year we are fundraising for a Masjid and Education Centre in Afghanistan.

A landlocked country and a gateway to the different regions of Asia, Afghanistan has too often been a victim of wars and conflict.

About 1.6 million Muslims lost their lives in the Soviet occupation between 1979 and 1991. Two million men, women and children were since maimed from unexploded ordnance and mines.

The current episode is sadly no different. Tens of thousands have died
in the past decade due to unrelenting conflict and international
neglect. Overtures aside, the current conflict continues unabated with
no end in sight.

Now one of the poorest nations on earth, Afghanistan and its people face a terrible plight.

The cost of the Masjid and Education Centre is between 15 - 20 thousand pounds and this is our most ambitious target yet.
