Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, here is my story.
In 2016 I was diagnosed with depression, which was very tough to deal with. With the support of family, friends and professionals I am in a much better place now, albeit I know that I will need to carefully manage what goes on in my own head for the rest of my life.
Now knowing how difficult having poor mental health is, I want to try to help others by raising funds for MIND. What started out as an idea to ride in their London to Paris event has snowballed massively and now, I am going to complete 12 events, 1 a month, in 2017 all to raise as much money as possible for them.
Here are the events.
28th Jan - Resolutions Sportive
11th Feb - The Rocket Sportive
4th Mar - Wiltshire Wildcat
22nd Apr - Fox Ultra Half Marathon
20th May - Surrey Hills Cyclone Sportive
10th Jun - Colour Obstacle Rush
30th Jul - Ride London
10-14th Aug - London to Paris
9-10th Sep - Rat Race Coast to Coast
8th Oct - Box Hill Original Sportive
Nov - TBC
Dec - TBC
Since talking about doing this a few people have spoken about doing an event with me. So far my friend Aitor has signed up to do the Resolution Sportive, and my beautiful wife Charlotte is doing the Colour Obstacle Rush. I have a semi pledge from my brother in law to come and do a Sportive with me, and am doing the Rat Race Coast to Coast with my friends Eoin and Hugh amongst others for Eoin's 50th birthday.
One of the big things with depression is feeling alone, and I want to promote the fact that there is always someone there to help, so if any of you fancy helping and joining me in any of these events, please do.
MIND are a fantastic charity and poor mental health is an area that needs addressing. Please give generously, I will be eternally grateful.
Thank you.
