I am running the 10k Enormous Elephant Run, dressed as an Elephant. Elephants are such magnificent creatures, but due to poachers illegally hunting these friendly giants they are in massive decline. The demand for ivory is still at large and we need to help protect this species.

One Elephant is killed every 15 minutes, at this rate there won’t be any roaming wild by 2025!!!

All money donated is going to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT). The DSWT is an orphan-elephant rescue and rehab facility, they are involved with the conservation, preservation and protection of wildlife and habitats in Kenya. They deal with anti-poaching, enhancing community awareness, addressing animal welfare issues, providing veterinary assistance to animals in need, rescuing and hand rearing elephant and rhino orphans. So far they have successfully rescued 170 orphaned elephant, 90 orphaned elephants have returned back to a life in the wild and 500 wild elephants have been treated by the Mobile Vet Units. If you would like to find out more please visit their website:http://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/

Just a small amount can help, here are a few things they could do:

£15 can ensure the younger elephant orphans stay warm with a blanket.

£55 can fund an Anti-Poaching Team for one day to keep threatened wild animals safe.

£200 can fund a Mobile Veterinary Unit for two days.

£500 can fund the care of an orphan elephant for an entire month.
