Non Stop Bike Ride to Belleek in Northern Ireland · 14 June 2018

We are the UK's leading charity providing financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the British Armed Forces and their dependents.

Story

The challenge this year is to cycle nonstop from County Durham to the furthest point west in the UK which is Belleek in County Fermanagh Northern Ireland to raise money for the Royal British Legion which is the chosen charity of the Chairman of Durham County Council - Councillor  John Lethbridge! This year marks the 100th anniversary of the end of the 1st World War and we would like to raise as much as we can for this wonderful charity.

Myself and 4 friends - Judith King, Neil O’Connor, David Shipman and Andrew Gilmore, will take on the challenge, cycling the 130 miles to Stranraer before crossing by ferry to Belfast and completing the remaining 100 miles to Belleek on the border with the Irish Republic. A grand total of 230 miles!

We will be supported on the ride by John Philipson and Bill Watson from the North East Autism Society, Michael King and Carol Ashton from the Trimdon Cycling Club and Fleet Financial from Belfast.

So please dig deep for this wonderful organisation and help us reach our target of £1500!
