Myeloma UK London Paris Ride 2023 · 7 September 2023 to 11 September 2023 ·

Myeloma patients, family, friends, healthcare professionals and supporters cycle 500km from London to Paris over four days to raise crucial funds for myeloma research.

Story

I'm cycling 500km over 4 days from London to Paris to help make Myeloma history!  Myeloma research is critically important because Myeloma is a complex cancer with no known cure. It's also relapsing and remitting which means many patients are in desperate need of that next treatment.

Elaine, my wife, was diagnosed with Myeloma just over two years ago. After chemo and a stem cell transplant she is now in remission. We have no idea how long this will be for, but we hope for a long time and long enough for a cure to be found. It’s been a tough few years but Elaine’s fight against two cancers (she had Thyroid cancer in 2020) has inspired me to do something to try and help make a difference.

She also inspired me to take my own health more seriously. Now 9 + stone lighter, fit for the first time in my adult life, I’ve also get Diabetes into remission and at the ripe old age of 59, feel like a fitness challenge too. This ride achieves all of that.

I’d love you to support me (and Elaine and Myeloma UK) in helping to raise £10,000 and kick cancer into touch. Anything you can give will be hugely appreciated and will make a difference. Thank you.
