Story

My nephew founded his own charity after a visit to Kenya some years ago, which he named the Eating Stones Fund.

Eating Stones Fund UK aims to relieve poverty and sickness in urban and rural Kenya, through education and access to effective, holistic healthcare. They work with grassroots projects, listening to those they support in order to understand what they need to help them out of poverty. Everyone and every community is different, so Eating Stones Fund tailor their approach to individual needs. They consider the whole person and whole community.

In order to raise some much-needed funds to help Eating Stones continue their work, I will be walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks with my nephew’s colleagues- a bunch of professionals from across the NHS, along with my daughters for some family support.

This is a 24-mile trek which includes 5,200ft of climb, which I am aiming to complete in under 12 hours. We will be taking on the peaks of Pen-y-ghentWhernside and Ingleborough. These peaks form part of the Pennine range and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

I would be incredibly grateful if you support me, the team and Eating Stones Fund by donating whatever you can.
