Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Recently Sarah and I have found out that our baby will be born with a cleft lip and palate. It was a shock and at first neither of us knew what to do, what to say or what to think. We felt like a rabbit in headlights. At the time we knew absolutely nothing about the condition, however the CLAPA team were there to talk about what it is and how we move forward with this news. They helped us understand what  happens next for us and our baby. They answered all of our questions and  over time have been able to put our worries at ease. CLAPA is the UK's only charity dedicated to supporting people with and affected by cleft from infancy through to adulthood.

Having a cleft lip or palate is one of the most common birth defects and 1 in 700 babies are born with it.

CLAPA give their support to so many parents that have experienced, are experiencing and may one day experience this birth defect. Their support is vital not just at the initial stage but also throughout the child's life. No matter what the situation they make sure that parents and patients never feel alone.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
