Story

So 2016 was a pretty tough year for my family. Throughout the year, we lost two, very much loved family members in my Nan, and my cousin Paul to the ever threatening Cancer. This happened in the space of 3 months and it really did drive a knife through the heart of my family.

One thing that I learned last year was that it is very easy to turn a blind eye to cancer and just hope that it never affects you, your family or your friends, but it can so quickly bring someone you love to their knees.

The MacMillan nurses were fantastic for my family throughout my Nan's horrific ordeal with the support and love that they showed. I really want to raise some money, not just to say thank you, but to also help them continue with their incredible support to families effected by cancer.

My brothers, Matt and Steve will be running the Colchester Half Marathon with me on Sunday 12th March, before I take on the Brentwood Half Marathon on Sunday 19th March and the Lee Valley VeloPark Half Marathon on Saturday 25th March.

I'm not looking to run these fast (somewhere below the 2 hour mark would be brilliant) but anyone that knows me will know how big of an achievement this will be given the problems I had with my lower legs as a youngster.

Not only this, and among many other races, Matt is going to be running the 26.2 miles of the London Marathon. This will be the second time he has run the London Marathon and I'm sure you'll agree this is a phenomenal effort.

I will try to update you all with the times and any updates throughout my training.

My whole family really do appreciate any donations that you can make, no matter how big or small.
