Story
My name is Phil O'Connor and I am a Cancer Survivor.
In March 2014 I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer and had an operation to remove a tumour. Then followed a very difficult course of Chemotherapy. I am now in remission and I am fit and well.
I want to give something back for the fantastic support I received from The Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre based at Mount Vernon Hospital where I received all my cancer treatment. I was always made to feel welcome when I popped in and was offered support/guidance on all aspects relating to my condition.
The unit relies predominantly on the support of the public and I would like to raise money to pay for patients during their cancer treatment to be given free complimentary treatments at the Centre such as reflexology, aromatherapy and indian head massage.
On Sunday 17th May 2015 I will take part in a 20 mile sponsored cycle ride starting at Oaklands College in St Albans. I think at 50 years of age and having had major back surgery that is about the right length for myself. The organisors have agreed that I can raise money for Macmillan after I made a donation to their nominated charity when I registered. If you google SACCR the website will give you more information
Thank you for supporting me for this very worthwhile cause.
Kind Regards. Phil, Narinder & Erin O'Connor
