Story
In 2006, my grandmother, Kitty Bourne, died after a lengthy battle with several forms of cancer, including breast and stomach. By putting my hair on the line, I'm hoping to raise money for Cancer Research UK to help them save lives from cancer. It's a fantastic charity, and any support you can give me would be great.
On May 5th, Future Pro Wrestling are holding their FUTUREMANIA event which is in aid of Cancer Research UK. The show includes an auction with lots of great items provided by wrestling stars all over the world, with all the money from that auction going to the charity. On this show, I will be wrestling against "The Cockney Crusader" Greg Burridge, with my hair on the line. That's right, if I lose, I will be shaved completely bald. My hair hasn't been cut since November 2010, and I haven't been bald since the day I was born. If I lose this match, it'll all be gone, in the middle of the ring in front of about 300 people, including some of my friends and family, and the whole thing will be captured on video and put onto Youtube as a constant reminder, as well as for everyone else to enjoy.
Now some of you might be feeling like this is a bit of a copout, because there's no guarantees I'll actually lose my hair. When you donate through Justgiving, the money goes directly to the charity. My promise to you is that if I WIN the match, and therefore keep my hair, I will use the winner's bonus to personally pay back ANYONE who donates. So if I keep my hair, you get your money back AND the charity still receives the donation. You really can't say fairer than that!
So there's really nothing for you to lose here - Justgiving is a totally secure way to donate, or if you really don't want to do that, then you can give me cash directly, and I'll include it on this page. I've kept it as a small target so as not to discourage anyone from donating, no matter how small the amount. Anything that you can give would be amazing, and I thank you so much for any donation you can spare.
Cheers,
"The Warden" Phil Ward
