Cardiff Half Marathon 2023 · 1 October 2023 ·

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So the challenge is the 13.1 mile Cardiff Half Marathon on October 1st and then complete the 10 mile Great South Run in Portsmouth a fortnight later.

As you are aware my Dad is experiencing health issues. However he is receiving wonderful support at his Care Home as well as specialist services. More of us will need such support in the coming years. This is my opportunity to say thank you to all those who have  helped Dad but also to raise awareness of dementia and Parkinson’s.

Up to 80% of people with Parkinson’s find their voice is affected. Some sound less clear, or speak more quickly or quietly. The Charity have developed a voice support programme called Live Loud. They train volunteers to deliver the programme which is offered free of charge, through in person groups and online.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
