Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 8th September 2019 I have signed up for a tandem skydive 😭. This by far will be the craziest thing I've ever signed my self up too especially as I have a huge fear of falling and I'm scared of heights. The last few years for my family have been hard with my Dad having cancer and although in remission still having to take things easy as took alot out of him as you could imagine. Everything seemed to be getting back on track until January of this year when my brother got taken ill. At first they thought Mike had a stroke but after a Ct scan and mri revealed that he had a brain tumour. At the start of February Mike had surgery in an attempt to remove the tumour however the surgeons were only able to remove 80 per cent of the tumour and confirmed that it was a grade 4 tumour which would eventually take his life. At first they give Mike 18 to 24months to live and said they would continue to remove the tumour as long as he was strong enough. Unfortunately just under a fortnight after Mike's surgery he became unresponsive and a Ct scan confirmed that he had a cyst form. Mike was taken to theatre to have the cyst drained and removed. This was successful but unfortunately the tumour had already grown back and Mike was then given roughly 6 weeks to live. Unfortunately just over a week later he passed away.

Throughout the whole time Mike didn't show any fear he was so positive and remained positive from the start. Although Mike had lived in Wakefield he always had love for his first home Worcester and before he passed made the decision to come to St Richard's hospice to live the rest of his life as knew the level of care and support  he would get.

Please donate what you can and share this page. You don't even know me or Mike to donate I'm doin this in honour of Mike and doin this to ensure everyone at St Richard's can continue to do a fantastic job for more years to come.

If you can't donate share this link social media is a wonderful thing

I'd like to give special thanks to Mike @ D&M Meats for the sponsorship that has helped me with my registration for the skydive. Join them on Facebook or go visit them
