I have been asked to write a few words on behalf of an amazing young lady, little miss Silvia Szabo ;-)

In 2008 my mother was diagnosed with cancer, shortly after this I discovered that mum had met a new group of friends, all half her age and the same age as me. She always had the ability to talk to anyone and everyone, and despite her weird and unique ways, she made people know and understand that they were at home with her.

It has been almost two years since mum passed away, and despite this I am amazed an proud to say that the friends she made are now my friends, and in my mother’s memory one of these friends has chosen to do a 9 mile midnight walk in support of Princess Alice Hospice, where my mother passed away in September 2009.

Silvia was an amazing support to my mother throughout her illness, I am forever grateful for her help, and today she continues to be a part of my life and for that I am sure my mother would thank her “infinitely” as she would say. I know that I do.

Apparently the only way  can thank Silvia is by helping her write a few words about mum and what she is hoping to do in her memory, so here we are, sitting on the sofa, drafting this and giggling about memories of my eccentric mother, not a bad way to spend a Friday night.
