Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Sadly my fabulous sister, Angharad, died approx. 13 years ago. In February 2018 she would have turned 30! I want to mark this occasion by doing some more fundraising for Reverse Rett. You may know my sister suffered from Rett Syndrome which is a horrible disease that effectively traps girls in their own bodies. Mentally capable of so much more, they're trapped with no way of communicating and with very little control over their own body.
Amazingly, Reverse Rett are close to finding a cure that will reverse the syndrome!
Reverse Rett is a UK medical research charity working to speed treatments and a cure for Rett Syndrome. Rett Syndrome has already been reversed in the lab. Reverse Rett work to drive these promising lab developments into tangible treatments and a cure for people living with Rett Syndrome today. You can help.
Previously, I did a 10km obstacle race in a 10kg weighted vest and the 22 mile Man v Mountain (Snowdon) challenges. So I know I need to step it up a bit, although I may have gone a bit far this time.
So, 2018 will be a year of fundraising for Reverse Rett.
11th Feb - Muscle Acre Obstacle Race (3 laps) - 36km/22 miles
5th May - Isle of Wight Challenge - 52km/32 miles
7th July - Serpent Trail (near Petersfield) - 50km/31 miles
15th July - Muscle Acre Obstacle Race dressed as a pink elephant - 12km (7miles)
Nov - Muscle Acre Obstacle Race (2 laps) with ADDED weight - 24km (14 miles)
Your help in supporting me will be greatly appreciated. There is a fabulous team of people at Reverse Rett and the girls that have Rett Syndrome are truly amazing!
