COPS is a UK charity dedicated to helping the families of police officers and police staff who have lost their lives on duty to rebuild their lives. We aim to ensure that surviving family members have the help they need to cope with such tragedy and they remain part of the police family.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving Page.

I am taking part in the UK Police Unity Tour between the 29th and 31st of July 2016, cycling from The National Police Memorial in London to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.

We will be cycling 180 miles and will be raising money for COPS (Care of Police Survivors), who help the families of Police Officers killed in the line of duty rebuild their lives.  Each rider will be issued a blue memorial bracelet inscribed with the name and information of the officer who died in the line of duty, which we will carry to the finish line.

I will be riding in memory of my friend and college from Wiltshire Police, PC Dan Cooper aged 22.  Dan was tragically killed on 1 February 2010 in a road traffic accident whilst responding to an urgent call for assistance from Officers dealing with an incident,  when his police vehicle left the road and collided with a tree near Bradford-on-Avon.

This event will be a physical test for myself as I have never cycled more than 25 miles.  Also as I suffered a massive attack and nearly died in July 2013.

"COPS" and I would be grateful if you would sponsor me to help the families of Police Officers who have lost their lives doing the job they loved.
