Brooke, Action For Working Horses and Donkeys is the world’s largest working equine welfare organisation. We make both immediate and long-term changes to transform the health and welfare of hardworking horses, donkeys and mules to give them a life worth living.

Story

Sadly, Porridge the Donkey passed away on the 20th July aged 38 years old. He had a happy, privileged action-packed life, which included various activities such as riding, driving, hunting and pony club. He met Royalty, celebrities, starred in Carmen, appeared on TV  and even accompanied Joey the Warhorse puppet at a WW1 commemoration day.

Porridge spent many years raising thousands of pounds for The Brooke charity winning many awards for the Aberdeenshire branch fundraising group. Petra Ingram, CEO of The Brooke, recognised his achievements by personally attending Porridge's 35th birthday - Porridge & Pimms - party.
