Help me support Texas 4000 for Cancer by making a donation - small or large - as it directly helps run this non-profit organization which supports cancer patients, hospitals, and research. Additionally, we also are the largest annual charity bike ride in the world; I’ll be biking 4,500+ miles to Alaska!

My Backstory

Though the purpose of Texas 4000 is cancer, my main reason of joining this organization was my mom's illness. When I was younger, my mom suffered from an illness not as common as cancer, but one that was just as much impactful to my life. She was bedridden during part of my elementary school years from a serious medication side effect that destroyed her joints all over the body and drained her energy to be a typical mother. The days of going to school at the back of my mom’s car, attending family functions, and eating my mom's home cooked lunches were sparse. Now, fortunately, after years, my mom can go on those bike rides and daily family strolls, but the illness took a toll on a large part of my childhood.

However, from stories from friends and family, to Camp Kesem, to my research, I hear and see how devastating cancer can be. It can persist much longer than someone expects or can be the end that no one sees. Because of this, I think the amount of support required to continue the fight against cancer is also insurmountable. Being apart of this fight to support all those around me who did or have cancer, I feel the need to continue aiding this progress. So, please donate and spread the word!
