Story
As many of you will be aware, in October last year the school suffered a great loss when
one of our much loved teachers Miss Krstic sadly passed away to Cancer.
The staff have decided that they would like to put on a charity event in her name, and
hopefully raise a large amount of money for MacMillan Cancer Support, who did a lot for Miss Krstic and her family, and continue to do so every day, for thousands of families across the country.
On Friday 26th April six members of staff will start our event off by cycling
the 166 miles from York St John’s University, where Miss Krstic studied, down the country
ending in Barton-le-Clay on the following day.
Upon arriving in Barton-le-Clay the team of six will be joined by around 100 members
of St Matthew’s staff and their families where together they will walk the 6.5
miles back to school across Barton and Wardown Hills.
Over the coming months we will be running a few fundraising events and activities within school and the community with the hope of reaching our fundraising target of
£5000.
Thank you to everyone who is helping us put on this event and everyone who has already donated.
Keep an eye our for updates over the next few weeks.
