A HUGE thank you to all "Polished Corners" who sponsored a Sixth Form Education for a talented, deserving pupil who could not otherwise afford such a fine education. The first Quondam Scholar is now studying a science subject at a major university. We wish her all the best in the future. She has written an article in Polished Corners Magazine 2023 about her experience.

“It is an understatement to say that FHS has been a wonderful experience, for it has been life changing. The school has and will always undeniably play a significate role in the type of woman I will become in the future. This unbelievable experience is something I will share with pride and will always appreciate. I will always be grateful.” The First Quondam Sixth Form Scholar

With £13,563 already raised and our generous President offering to match our funds, we are now nearly half way to our goal of the £31,000 we need to sponsor our Second Scholar through the Sixth Form. Wouldn’t it be great if we could raise the funds for her to start in September 2026? Dare we even hope to achieve this by this September, 2025?

It is numbers of sponsors we hope for, as well as funds - whether with the price of a coffee a week or a month, or a whole year’s education, we do hope you will be encouraged to donate what you wish to change the life of a young girl who, without our help, would not be able to attend our fine school.

The Dream: We dream on and dearly want to sponsor a Quondam Sixth Form Scholar in every Sixth Form! Currently, £62,000 buys this gift of two years' education at our fine school . Our President, Headmistress Mrs Katharine Woodcok, is so supportive of this initiative that she has agreed that the school will match funds raised by Quondam. That means raising £31,000 every other year. £16,000 per annum. There are just short of 2,000 of us on the mailing list. If each of us gave £8 a year, together we would give this life changing experience to a talented young girl who, without our help, would not have the funds to attend Francis Holland, Regent's Park.

We want as many as possible to donate so it really is a team effort. Whatever you feel comfortable with donating, we will be thrilled to receive and that sum will make us nearer our goal. We do hope you will support The Quondam Sixth Form Scholarship Appeal.

If you are a UK tax payer, the Trust will benefit from GiftAid too, increasing your donation by 25%.

Here is an extract from a thank you letter from a previous bursary student: "I am so grateful for the generosity of the benefactors who donated funds to enable me to receive a world-class education at an incredible school, something I would not have been able to experience otherwise. I hope that other girls in similar circumstances will be able to thrive at Francis Holland School, Regent’s Park, in the same way that I did,"
