Team REPL To Tackle Tough Cycling Challenge
1000 miles to cover. 55,000 feet to climb. The intrepid members of Team REPL are deep in training to cycle from Land’s End to John o’ Groats.
They’re not in for an easy ride. Over two weeks in September, they’ll be
pedalling up to 80 miles a day from the furthest corner of Cornwall to theHighlands of Scotland.
By the time they’ve completed this iconic challenge, they’ll have cycled the equivalent of 1.5 times the height of Mount Everest.
The team includes executive chairman Mike Callender, CEO Cerys Johnson and Chief Alliances Officer Chris Love – some of whom are more familiar with sitting in a bike saddle than others.
The epic adventure, arranged through Pedal Britain, is to celebrate REPL’s tenth birthday and raise at least £100,000 for the company’s dedicated charity Molly Olly’s Wishes.
Set up in memory of eight-year-old Molly Ollerenshaw who lost a brave five-year fight against cancer, the charity supports children with terminal or life-threatening illnesses and their families.
REPL’s long-term fundraising partnership already allows them to contribute to the cost of the only children’s palliative care consultant in the West Midlands. The money raised by the cycle will help fund special individual wishes, ranging from medical equipment to toys and games to entertain them whilst in hospital, to special days out and experiences. It will also enable the charity to donate their therapeutic toy lion “Olly the Brave” and the accompanying books to hospitals across the UK.
