Story

I teamed up with my wife Julia and daughter Rebecca to take on the South Coast Challenge on 4th-5th September, hiking 100km of the South Downs Way from Eastbourne to Arundel over two days. Old Alumni (St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School 1985-90 and friends) have come together in support of CALM by undertaking a range of personal challenges this year. Sadly a well loved medical school colleague, Dr Guy Bayley, was lost to suicide last November, and we are collectively fundraising for this highly regarded charity in his memory. Guy was a pioneering paediatric anaesthetist in Bristol and is very much missed by his family and friends. Please support us at a time when mental health and wellbeing are more important than ever.

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK. Our goal is a life less miserable for you, your friends, your family and for all men.
