I lost my Dad to cancer when he and I both were far too young (he 33, me 3) and I'm grateful for the constant screening offered to me to give me the best chance of avoiding Dad's cancer in the future and the genetic research that's being done with Dad's tissue to help understanding of the disease. We miss our friend Alison who we lost last year to cancer, again too young at 45.  I so hope that one day we'll be better able to fight it all, it's getting better year by year. I wanted to run to feel I'm doing just something, very little, but at least better than sitting about worrying! It'll be the hardest thing I have ever done as you all know as I'm not the fittest person so you'll know the money is supporting some real effort!
