Hi eveyone i'm Claire i do race for life every year as i have battled with cancer and im one of the lucky ones who is here today to help raise money for a preventative or cure!!! Heres my story

I was diagonosed with lympohoma in 2008, i had a little boy Connor who was 3 at the time i had it in my neck, chest, lungs, armpits and 1 the size of a grapefruit in my chest which had broke my breast bone and was making my veins work over time.
I had 12 chemos lost my hair had to inject immune boosting drugs to help me but im here today!!! Why becuase i had the most AMAZING support my little boy gave me strength, kept me smiling, i had an amazing partner that used to sit with me and hold my hand while having chemo, held my hair back when i was sick and told me i was beautuiful when my hair came out in chunks!! My mum and dad who was there for me no matter what and my family and in laws!! Also my amazing friends that kept me laughing and didnt make me feel any diffrent i have some fantastic memories even though i was battling cancer!!! I love each and everyone of you!!! 

This year i was told Connor couldn't take part, this broke my heart and i set out to make sure he would be holding my hand across that finishline, FAMILY, AMAZING FRIENDS, PEAK FM, DERBYSHIRE TIMES, BBC SHEFFIELD, BBC RADIO 5 and LOOK NORTH supported my story and because of this they changed the rules so my boys can race with me!!!! I can't thank you all enough for your support!!!

We all think we are invincable but reality is that everyday someones Grandparent, Parent, Son, Daughter get diagnosed with a type of cancer!!!! 

I was one of the lucky ones that got the all clear and have done now for 4years (fingers crossed!!!) who has in the meantime had 2 more gorgeous boys.  

Sadly not everyone is as lucky as i am, and they cant be with us today but can look down with pride that we are all doing something about it!!!! 

So please dig dip i cant think of a better cause to help rasie mioney for research, treatment and hopefully a cure in the future!!!!!

Me and my friends are also organising a separate race where EVERYONE can take part called RACE IN UNITY because we are in this togther so lets make the beautiful people who are fighting, battling or sadly lost their battle proud!!!!  ALL OF US Vs CANCER!!!!
