Why Cancer Research?

When I was 15 years old my mum was diagnosed with Cancer. At first, the doctor doubted it was Cancer, as my mother was only in her late 30s. Therefore there was not urgency for testing. Unfortunately, when the results finally came back, she was diagnosed with Cancer. She battled with the disease for 3 years, but passed away when I was 18. Losing a mother at 18 was extremely hard. But many younger girls and boys are losing their mothers and fathers to this evil disease.

Since then a lot of advances in treatments have developed and the number of survivors have increased. But we still have a long way to go to stamp out cancer for good.
