On the morning of Friday 2nd July 2021 I will set off and attempt to ride from Lands End to John O’Groats via numerous Life Boat Stations. I have 12 days to accomplish my challenge and will require all the support I can muster in order to succeed.

I have been a crew member at New Brighton RNLI for a few years now and I have been involved in various rescues and training exercises during that time. I recognise the necessity and value of the RNLI and how the organisation places the upmost importance on personal protective equipment and search and rescue units. Without the regular supply of such our launch to aid and assist casualties would be so much more difficult and dangerous.

Last year in 2020 New Brighton RNLI had a record number of call outs. With Covid restrictions set to be relaxed again this Spring and Summer season I envisage another busy year both locally and Nationally. The support of the RNLI is paramount to enable the highly recognised service it provides 24hrs a day, 365 days of the year, covering the British Isles.

The RNLI has been operating at full capacity since the start of lockdown. Our service has been rescuing people throughout the Coronavirus pandemic and our heroic crews commitment to saving lives has not stopped. Unfortunately, our ability to raise funds has been limited.The average lifeboat station in the North West costs £136,000 a year to run and we are going to have a significant shortfall in income due to the Coronavirus. We are asking all our friends and communities to donate what they can to keep us running.All along the North West coast from Silloth to West Kirby, we will always be there to keep you and your loved ones safe, on our watch, there will be no preventable deaths on the North West coast. Please help us fulfil that mission.
