We need your help and support for Myton Hospice as we start to get ourselves ready for a Road Trip to remember.

This road trip will see two drivers travel from the UK to Austria and back to the UK in a fully electric car, The challenges we are going to hit are vehicle range and charging times. The electric car we are using is a 2015 Renault Zoe 22kw with a range of 60-110 miles depending on conditions and weather. The Zoe charging times can vary from 30mins to 3hrs or even 12 hrs again depending on chargers and weather conditions and cold climates.

So straight away this is not a straight forward hop into a car fill it up and off you go, That would be to easy.

We have two drivers Craig Tonge from Coventry aged 43 - Craig is the RZOC club owner and has vast knowledge of electric vehicles since owning one for nearly two years, Craig is married to Vikki and has two boys Jacob and Lewis and also there cat Tigger. This is the first time Craig has attempted anything like this and is excited not only to see if he can do the challenge but to see how he can make his mum proud after she spent her time in Myton Hospice and this is Craig Giving back for the hard work they all did for her.

Our second driver is Jan-Bart Spang  Dutchman aged 38 living in Ireland. Video blogging about Renault Zoe ownership in Ireland and a veteran international EV driver. Committee member of the Irish EV Owners Association. 

Jan-Bart is Married, a proud owner of a dog and a less proud owner of 3 cats that drive him mad. His Hobbies are computer tech, EV driving and walking.

This will also be the first time Craig and Jan-Bart have actually met each other and what a way to start a friendship than a road trip for such a good cause.

On route Jan-Bart will be video blogging and helping with all the Media updates as they travel.
