TCS London Marathon 2022

London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·
Jo and I have shared so many wonderful memories. We travelled around the globe to see plenty of solar eclipses. We had fun day in and out. Before she was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer, Christmas 2016, we were still running a few Mud Runs, Great South Run, Dovedale Dash. Jo was full of surprises and no challenge was too big for her.
Jo was an inspiration to me and the entire community around her. After her complicated and long surgery, and 18 weeks of chemo, she went into remission and started running again. She was a BRCA1 carrier and did spread awareness of these genetics. Our village Tissington in Derbyshire dedicated a memorial bench to her, as well as a tree.
After her one year and half remission she had to go back on chemo. The BRCA1dedicated PARP therapy, and many other chemo sessions no longer worked. The evil cancer was spread out. It was her wish to stay at home for what was left. My angel sadly past away in my arms in the early morning of 18 July 2020.
