Story
On the August bank holiday, I am attempting to run the Bob Graham round, a 66 mile circuit of 42 Lake District peaks in under 24 hours.
In May this year we lost my mum to secondary liver cancer, which had spread from a starting point of breast cancer. Mere months before she was still attending fell and orienteering races to see myself and my brothers race, catch up with friends and generally enjoy and share the love of the outdoors that she and my dad instilled in us from a young age. I have dreamed about doing the BG for years, and she knew that I was planning to have a go at it this year. Of course in my plans she was at the finish waiting for me, and this is why I want to raise some money for Cancer Research UK - research for a cure needs money, and if we can discover better treatments and cures, then maybe someone else can have their mum waiting at the finish line for them.
Thank you in advance for anything you can donate - every little bit can make a difference.
