Story

Three and a half years ago we lost my dad to a brain aneurysm. At 67, he was full of life, fit, healthy, and he left a hole in many a heart. Tragically, the type of aneurysm he had was rare and inoperable, it left us with a lot of unanswered questions at the very time we were all desperate for answers - this is the most awful thing with many brain conditions - there are no answers, just life-limiting uncertainties.  This is the reason that I am running the 2024 London Marathon - in memory of my Dad and to help raise funds, for Brain Research UK, so that in the future, other families will get answers and not just the dreadful unknown! Brain Research UK is the UK's leading national fund dedicated to research into neurological conditions, and they fund vital research to increase understanding, improve diagnosis and develop treatments: working towards the prevention of these conditions, to help people who suffer with them live fuller, longer lives. Some of these conditions have not received the attention they deserve. For instance did you know that brain tumours, a key area of research, currently kill more under-40's than any other cancer? This has to change, and is yet another reason I am running next April. Please support this incredible cause - in memory of my Dad and to make sure that we find cures for some of these terrible illnesses that rob us of people we love before their time. Thank you.
