The Food Chain exists to ensure that poor nutrition does not compromise the health prospects of people living with HIV in London. We help people get well, stay well and lead independent lives through crisis grocery deliveries, cookery classes, communal lunches and specialist dietetic advice.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So.....I have just moved to London and Ingrid has introduced me to the Food Chain, who come September I will be volunteering for. I think they are an amazing organisation who have a direct impact on peoples lives in London. They deliver meals and groceries, offer cookery and nutrition classes and communal eating opportunities to people living with HIV in London and their dependants. Sometimes the hot cooked meals they deliver are the only external contact someone gets in a week and this makes a big difference.

The Food Chain make their money go a long way:

£4.00 will pay for all the ingredients in two tailored meals delivered on a Sunday (soon to be cooked by me!! Roll over Nigella, the Hemsley is in the kitchen.......)

£36 will buy enough groceries for a week for someone who is unable to shop or can't afford to eat the appropriate food necessary to live well.

£80 can pay for a nutritionist to facilitate an Eating Positively class, supporting a dozen people living with HIV to learn how to use nutrition to better manage their condition.

So the day after my holiday (oopsie, not too much wine and cheese for me in France - ahem!) I will be on my bike busting my buns with the hope of raising some cash to keep the meals flowing.

So please dig deep, donate now and a massive thanks, love you all!
