I will be joining Cancer Research Wales and trek along the legendary Wonder of the World of The Great Wall of China! 

On the 13th May 2017 I will travel from London to Beijing to embark on a 9 day challenge of walking the Great Wall of China along with a group of other fundraisers. By day, we will zig-zag our way across this awe-inspiring landscape ending at the Jiayuguan Pass in the desert of Western China, while taking in many fascinating watchtowers and battlements. 

As a group we will cover some of the 27 watchtowers over old brick-made steps, trek through remote villages and farms, trek 20 battlements to the ‘Heavenly Ladder’ – a near vertical staircase that climbs to the top of the mountain taking in truly stunning scenery, we will also ensure our own little piece of history by helping to repair the Badaling Old Section of the Great Wall. 

New bricks are carried up to a section that is currently being repaired. Trained staff will supervise the placing of the bricks on the Wall. As a group we will repair the past and help build ground breaking research for the future.
