I am running the Tewkesbury Half Marathon in memory of my friend Frankie - and also for anyone else who has been affected by mental health.
Two years ago this month Frankie took her own life, after suffering with depression.
Not a day goes by when I don't think about her and wish there was something I could have done to help her.
So many people are affected by mental health - but there's still a huge lack of understanding of the illness, and the funding and support isn't always there when it is desperately needed.
I have chosen to run for the Mental Health Foundation - which campaigns for more research and funding for mental health and also influences Government policy.
Mental health is a topic close to my heart - I know so many friends and family who've been affected by it, many who've been able to speak out and have had amazing support to get them through.
Unfortunately though, Frankie wasn't able to get the help she needed. Although nothing can bring her back, I hope by doing my small bit I can help someone - to speak out, or to seek the support they need. Nobody should ever have to suffer in silence.
The 17th of May marks the end of Mental Health Awareness Week, so it seems fitting to be running in memory of Frankie on this day.
Thank you for visiting my page - and for your support.
