I've been given the opportunity of a lifetime, thanks to the support of Bunzl Catering Supplies, to get involved with The Springboard Charity and to make a difference through a charity trek and community project in Peru.

In March 2016, I, along with other Springboard trekkers, will be embarking on a trek around Machu Picchu and a community project to bring sustainable energy (solar panels) to a remote Peruvian school and to offer support with English lessons and computer skills. Can you imagine not being able to switch on a light? This project will bring light to a community.

So I'm looking for your support not only with my fund-raising but also to support the 3E's from my application:

• Education - in learning about a new country - Peruvian culture, it's people and new skills linked to the charity project. And of others about the work undertaken by the Springboard charity  within the hospitality industry (an area that I have worked for more years than I care to mention) to develop younger and less privileged people.
• Enlightenment - of myself and others, about my tenacity and capability to see something through to fruition. And of the opportunities arising from working within a new team to deliver the community project.
• Encouragement - to undertake something stimulating, challenging and exciting whilst having fun doing it.

In reading this page you have fulfilled some of the education and enlightenment aims - now help by giving generously and encouraging me to make a success of this opportunity.
