On the 17th June 2020, at 12.00 mid-day I will be fulfilling a challenge to do 100 one arm press-ups within a time limit of 3 minutes.  

About me

I'm an English language teacher, 67 year old man living in the UK.  

I'll be having witnesses to the event to make sure that the challenge is fulfilled in a correct way and everybody will be able to see me doing the press-ups on facebook and Instagram.  The venue is to be announced but the event will be live on facebook.   I've been training for the event since February 2020.  Please follow my regular preparation updates (pictures and videos) leading up to the final day on facebook live, on the 17th June:

Why am  I doing this?

I would like to raise as much money as possible during this period of time of the Corona virus global pandemic, for refugees.   All money raised is going direct to the UK branch of the UNHCR, United Nations Refugee Agency.  Please could you donate whatever you can afford.

How does the UNHCR help the world during Covid-19?

The UNHCR is working to protect the weakest and most vulnerable people on the planet.  There are currently 70 million forcibly displaced people.  Around 26 million of these are refugees who mostly live in low income countries.   Half of all refugees around the world are children. 

The UNHCR along with WHO (World Health Organisation) are directing their resources with emergency supplies and establishing isolation units.  A lot of money needs to be raised by the UNHCR to match some of the global needs.  Organisations such as the Red Cross, World Food Programme and the MSF, are some of contributors responding to the same crisis.
