Overview

Given the global pandemic, many of us have had our routines drastically altered. We’ve needed to find new ways of keeping physically and mentally active and socially engaged.

Here at The Worlds of SFF, we’ve decided we’d love to raise money for ‘Doctors Without Borders’—a global medical aid organisation who are crucial to providing medical care to those in need. To achieve this, we want to encourage people to take part in, and donate to, our June Readathon and share their experience socially. Reading is great for your mental health and can be extremely rewarding socially!

Furthermore, June is Pride month and in the spirit of coming together and promoting diversity we’ll be doing a book giveaway. The selection of books available have been chosen to promote diversity (details below).

Finally, if our Readathon proves successful, we will make it a yearly event!

Giveaway

Anybody who donates (except ‘anonymous’ because we wouldn’t be able to find you) or submits a review to post on our blog will be entered into a random draw to win a book.

We plan to give away three books, however, if anybody wishes to help expand the giveaway and offer a book, or other goodies, please get in contact with us.

Winners will be able to select a book from the following list:

  • The Unspoken Name
  • The Perfect Assassin
  • The Impossible Contract
  • The Song of Achilles
  • Gideon the Ninth
  • A Memory Called Empire
  • The Fifth Season
  • This is How You Lose the Time War
  • The Unspoken Name
  • The Priory of the Orange Tree

How can you take part?

We want to encourage as many people as possible to set themselves a reading challenge for June, no matter how small (we have a suggestion for you further down).

We’re also encouraging people to write a guest review, which we will post on our site. All you have to do it submit your to jdrobertssff@gmail.com and it will be posted on https://theworldsofsff.com.

We reserve the right not to publish a review if we believe it does not match the ethos of our blog.
