Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you know I was meant to be completing Ride The Night tonight (23.5.20) in memory of my wonderful mum.  Today marks 10 years since she passed away.  I thought it would have been an amazing way to help remember her hy and raise some much needed funds for the 3 womens charities including Ovarian Cancer Action which is what mum battled with for so long but was taken too soon from us :-(

Due to the circumstances we have all found ourselves in unfortunately the ride has been cancelled.  However....please dont panic!!! I have deferred until next year 29th May 2021!!!

Yes....another whole year to train and another whole year to raise much needed funds.

I cant thank those enough who have already donated. I had raised £210.00 on my other page for todays event....these have been included in my offline donations for 2021 so thankyou so so much. I do hope to reach my target. I can do this and am doing this for my wonderful, amazing mum who I cant believe has been gone from our lives for 10 years today.

I am off on a cycle ride today to go and see her at the grave and to start my training all over again!!!

Thanks all. Much love. Xxx

Original story for 2020.

I think this is going to be a very emotional day/evening.  As many of you know my wonderful mum passed away with ovarian cancer on 23rd May 2010.  I have started cycling and have been loving it.  Dave bought me a lovely new bike for my 40th birthday and I wanted to find something that will not only help others but help me on my fitness and weight loss journey.

Choosing this event has been on my mind for a while...I have done a lot of research into it and pulled off the training guide already.  When the news came out today that next years ride is open for booking I looked into it straight away.  I must admit the 100K ride was quite daunting...so when I saw that they are doing a 50K and then saw the date they are running it on I signed up straight away.  Yes, I am only completing the 50K but then hope to complete the 100K the following year when I will be even fitter.  But the date...the event is actually being run on the 10th anniversary of mums passing.

The challenge is on and I am completing it in memory of my wonderful mum.  10 years...it doesn't quite seem possible. I love and miss her so much.  These 3 charities that I will be riding for are 3 womens cancer charities.  One which is Ovarian Cancer Action.  One very close to my heart.

This is a massive challenge for me but one where I am going to take my latest motto of 'NO EXCUSES' to the MAX.

I am setting myself a target of £500.00 and would love to smash this :-D

Every little helps, I myself know how hard it is to give sometimes but if you can give just a little it will mean the absolute world to me.  Even if it is just your love and prayers you can give that will mean just as much.

Thanking you in advance

Here's to my challenge, this is for you mum xxx
