I think there aren’t many people in Salisbury who at one time or another haven’t needed the hospice. They provide not only wonderful care for the person but also for the families and children. They have been hit really hard with Covid and lost many volunteers which they rely heavily on.
Salisbury Hospice is the only provider of specialist palliative care in the local area. Although they receive some NHS funding, they rely heavily on fundraising and donations to cover the annual running costs.
Salisbury Hospice Charity aims to raise £1.5 million towards these costs every year.
Through the generosity and support of local people, Salisbury Hospice can continue to offer nursing and medical care, emotional and practical support, welfare advice, occupational therapy and physiotherapy, complementary therapies and creative activities.
These services are provided free to patients and their families – either at the hospice, in the community or in their own homes.
