Thank you being here. In August 2020, the unimaginable happened when my 38 year old husband, and father to our 2 year old son, died suddenly at home from an undiagnosed heart condition. Two years on, I can look back on my journey and honestly believe that without the incredible peer to peer support of WAY, and the friendship of so many in this club no one wants to be eligible to join, I would not be as strong, emotionally intact and as hopeful about the future as I now am. I want to raise money to ensure people starting out on this path in the future have the same support as I did, and also so WAY is always there for me in the future when I have my inevitable dips and wobbles.

In August 2022, I am releasing a song that I first recorded the orchestra for in 2015. I had planned a very different, triumphant, anthemic version of this song, but when I lost Jay the song took on a different meaning. I returned to it with fresh eyes and wanted to create something a bit more gentle, more nostalgic and more heartfelt. It is a song that celebrates that there once was love, and that means something. That we carry that forever. It's a song for anyone who has loved someone they loved, not just for the loss of an intimate partner. Coming on the heels of a global pandemic where too many people were lost, I feel it is a song that many of us need.

The song will be performed for the first time at the York Proms on Sunday 10th July, the event I co-founded with Jay in 2017 when I was pregnant with our son, Logan.
