Story
Our mum, Pam Fahey, had been under the amazing care of the Pembridge Hospice Community team since she was diagnosed with lung cancer in January 2018.
On 31 May 2018, she was admitted to the Inpatient Unit for an assessment. Complicated by dementia and other health issues, Mum’s condition varied on an almost daily basis. Her prognosis changed from months to weeks to days then back up again. It was a massive rollercoaster for us emotionally. But the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at Pembridge supported us every step of the way. They laughed and joked with us when Mum was on good form. They provided relief and comfort when Mum was in pain. They supported us through our tears when we struggled with the thought and reality of losing her.
The support we received from Pembridge Hospice in the past 6 months has made the world of difference to us. Please help us help them to continue to provide dedicated care to other families.
£250 could sponsor a nurse to receive specialist Palliative Care training so we have set a target of £750 (Palliative Care nurses work in teams).
