Story
Our wonderful, beautiful, amazing son Rafi passed away from a brain tumour on 26 June 2023. He had just celebrated his 11th birthday.
He had been diagnosed with a medulloblastoma aged 3, which he successfully overcame following chemotherapy and radiotherapy. However, in August 2022 we were given the devastating news that he had a second tumour, a glioma, likely caused by the treatment and that there was nothing that could be done.
Rafi was an extremely happy boy, full of life and always there for people. One of his school friends described him as “like the sun shooting rays of sunshine at everybody”. He was also a character, naturally funny and quick witted,, people were drawn to him by his warmth and love.
Despite all the issues Rafi faced as a result of his treatment, Rafi could never be underestimated. His determination is a source of constant inspiration for us and one way in which we aim to remember him is by raising money to help other children and their families who face the same challenges of a brain tumour diagnosis, not to mention funding research so that we can hopefully make advances in treatment of this awful disease, the biggest cause of death in children..
We will love and miss our amazing boy always and everywhere.
