Story
As some of you know, in October last year our beautiful wife and Mum lost her fight with cancer 18 months after her diagnosis.
We hate saying that she lost because words can not describe what she was like during her battle. She was incredibly brave, strong, positive and wanted to to continue being the amazing woman she was for as long as possible. She did not give up trying to be with us forever, even at the end. Sometimes we feel so angry that our kind, caring, funny, happy wife and Mum had to be taken away, she deserved to shine forver and to be loved by all those that love her. And then we also think back to The Royal Marsden and all the other brave, amazing people and their families who are fighting cancer and being separated too soon.
The Royal Marsden could be seen as a sad place filled with sick people, but it's not. It's a place where the Doctors and nurses and all staff do all they can to make you better, help you carry on and fight. Our Mum could not thank the people who helped her enough, (she was always buying them gifts to try to show a fraction of her graditude) and nor can our family. They also helped us go on one last holiday. The place is filled with real-life angels!!
When people to say us "You're so strong", we think how could we not be with the wife and Mum that we had. We can not descirbe what it is like but my Mum would hate it if we sat and gave up because that was something she never did and nor did the staff at the Royal Marsden.
Cancer is horrible but we need to do what our wife and Mum did literally and stick our fingers up to it! So please donate! And also help us say thank you (although we can never show our gratitude enough) to The Royal Marsden and all the amazing work they do for cancer patients.
