The 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal in April 2015 devastated communities across the country. Hundreds of thousands of people continue to live in temporary camps, often in squalid conditions with intermittent access to adequate food and clean water and no access to the economic and psychological support needed to cope with their loss and move forward.  

Staff and volunteers of Restless Development Nepal responded quickly, deploying to the worst-affected districts, providing tents, food, water and medicines to those camped in the national stadium in Kathmandu, and orchestrating blood donation drives in the critical first 72 hours after the earthquake struck. Restless Development Nepal built the largest number of temporary learning centres in Nepal after the earthquakes to provide safe learning spaces and psychosocial support for children across the hardest hit districts.

What is the 2017 Charity Adventure Festival?

The 2017 Charity Adventure Festival is an extreme sports event that marks 2-year anniversary of the earthquake. Through this event — which incorporates a Bungee Jump, Canyon Swing and Rafting — Restless wants to celebrate both the resilience of the Nepalese people, and the strength of the communities our participants have come from.

How will my contributions be spent?

Everything you donate here will be spent on Restless Development projects in Nepal.  We’re currently working in 43 districts of Nepal, through a range of projects that empower young people, provide them with sustainable livelihoods and opportunities, increase awareness of their sexual health and rights, develop an understanding of the governance processes in Nepal, and promote better social dynamics between genders. Your contribution will help shape the lives of young people living in rural communities across Nepal.
