At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I've decided to run the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 14th October 2012 to raise money for the Alzheimers Society. My grandfather passed away recently following a lengthy battle with this terrible disease. I decided to to do the run before he passed away and now I think it'd be a great thing to do in his memory. Anything I manage to raise will go towards helping to prevent this disease that ruins sufferers' lives as well as those around them.

I haven't set myself a target time for the run but if I manage to complete it then i'll be extremely happy with myself as it wasn't too long ago that I could barely run around the corner!

Thank you very much if you have donated and i'll let you know how I get on!
